Talk to the Void
These pieces began as an idea for a joint exhibit between artists in Sydney and Copenhagen. The idea was to develop works based on the concept of "Conversations with a Computer Screen" as a narrative on long-distance relationships. The images above map the movements of my mouse as I 'did other things' while chatting to friends online.
Although the exhibit never eventuated, the works continue to haunt/intrigue me. The plan is to etch the images and experiment with transparent inking (and maybe dusting with raw pigment) as a way of exploring/representing what might be happening on the other side of the computer screen. Maybe then I can let these babies go out into the world...
