TIME WRITTEN IN GRAIN
   (Ancient Bristlecone Pine)

A tree older than empires leans into the weather like prayer.
Wind, having carved memory into muscle and spine,
Rain has transformed patience into fibre.
It is less a tree than a verb - to endure.
Standing here, I read the slow handwriting of centuries,
and feel how quietly the world remakes us.

TIME WRITTEN IN GRAIN

AFTER THE WIND SPOKE
   (Eureks Dunes)

The dune is a sentence spoken by wind and erased by morning.
Grains travel continents to rest for a moment in this curve of light.
Here, absence is structure; stillness is labour.
The desert teaches how form is made by what passes through us.
